Privacy Policy

This page explains, in plain language, what information this site collects when you visit, how cookies and Google services are used, and what rights you have over your data — including specific rights under the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 for our Filipino readers. This is an independent guide, not the official PhilHealth website. It works alongside our Terms and Conditions and Disclaimer to explain how this site operates.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

We want this stated first, plainly: this site is an independent informational guide, not the PhilHealth Member Portal, EPRS, or IHCP system. We never ask for, and do not collect:

  • Your PhilHealth PIN, password, or login credentials
  • Your PhilHealth ID, Member Data Record (MDR), or claim details
  • Government ID numbers, ID photos, or PhilSys/National ID data
  • Medical records, diagnoses, or health information
  • Financial account or payment card details
Every login step on this site links out to the real philhealth.gov.ph — we never host a login form of our own, so there is nothing here that could capture your PhilHealth credentials.

2. Information We Collect Automatically

Like virtually all websites, our server and analytics tools automatically log standard technical information when you visit, including:

  • Your IP address and approximate location derived from it (country/city level)
  • Browser type, device type, and operating system
  • Pages visited, time spent on the site, and referring/exit pages
  • Date and time of your visit

Information you give us voluntarily

If you email us or use a contact form, we receive whatever you include — typically your name, email address, and the content of your message. We use this only to respond to you.

3. Cookies & Similar Technologies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We use them, and allow trusted third parties (described below) to use them, for:

  • Essential functionality — remembering basic site preferences.
  • Analytics — understanding which pages are useful, via tools like Google Analytics.
  • Advertising — if this site displays ads (e.g. through Google AdSense), Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, web beacons, or similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites.

You can disable cookies at any time in your browser settings. Doing so may affect some site functionality but will not block you from reading any guide on this site.

4. Google Analytics & Advertising

We may use Google Analytics to understand site traffic, and Google AdSense to display advertising that supports this site. As required by Google’s Publisher Policies, here’s what that means in practice:

  • Google and its partners may use cookies, web beacons, and IP addresses to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
  • You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings, or by visiting aboutads.info for a broader industry opt-out.
  • If you’re located in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, Google’s EU User Consent Policy requires that certain disclosures and consent choices be presented to you before personalized ads are shown; we honor those requirements where applicable.
  • You can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

We do not control, and are not responsible for, the specific data practices of Google or other third-party ad and analytics providers — their own privacy policies govern that processing.

5. How We Use Information

Whatever information we do collect is used only to:

  • Operate, maintain, and improve this site’s content and functionality
  • Understand which guides are helpful, and which need to be updated
  • Respond to questions, corrections, or feedback you send us
  • Detect and prevent spam, abuse, or security issues

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.

6. Who We Share Data With

We share limited data only with the service providers needed to run this site — for example, our hosting provider, Google Analytics, and Google AdSense (if active). We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with data brokers or unrelated third parties for their own marketing purposes.

7. Your Rights

Your specific rights depend on where you’re located. We’ve broken these out by jurisdiction rather than using one generic list, since the legal basis genuinely differs.

🇵🇭 Philippines — RA 10173

Data Privacy Act of 2012

Under the Data Privacy Act and its Implementing Rules, enforced by the National Privacy Commission (NPC), you have the right to:

  • Be informed that your data is being processed
  • Access your personal data that we hold
  • Object to processing
  • Request correction (rectification) of inaccurate data
  • Request erasure or blocking of your data
  • Data portability, where technically feasible
  • Be indemnified for damages from misuse of your data
  • File a complaint with the National Privacy Commission
🇪🇺 EEA, UK & Switzerland — GDPR

General Data Protection Regulation

If GDPR applies to you, you have the right to:

  • Access, rectify, or erase your personal data
  • Restrict or object to processing
  • Data portability
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

California residents (CCPA/CPRA)

If you’re a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information (as those terms are defined under California law). We do not sell personal information for money; advertising cookies used for ad personalization may still qualify as “sharing” under CPRA, which is why the Google opt-out links above are provided.

To exercise any of the rights above, contact us using the details at the bottom of this page. We’ll respond within a reasonable time and verify your request before acting on it.

8. Data Retention

Automated log and analytics data is generally retained only as long as needed for the analytics purposes described above, per our analytics provider’s own retention settings. If you email us, we retain that correspondence only as long as reasonably needed to resolve your inquiry, unless you ask us to delete it sooner.

9. Children’s Privacy

This site is not directed at, or intended for, children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the limited data this site handles. However, no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. International Data Transfers

Because we use international service providers (such as Google), data collected through this site may be processed on servers located outside the Philippines. Where this happens, we rely on our providers’ own compliance frameworks (such as Google’s data processing terms) to ensure data continues to receive appropriate protection.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our practices change or as legal requirements evolve. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date at the top. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
